Contest-Ted Dekker-TheSanctuary

Win Ted Dekker's new book "The Sanctuary"

"Mortal" by Ted Dekker and Tosca Lee

What I have to say...
Mortal, the second installment of Ted Dekker and Tosca Lee’s trilogy, The Books of Mortals, seamlessly transforms you back into the world they have created.  Personally I heard Dekker’s voice more than Lee’s in this one, or so I think. I suppose one can never really tell.  There were just a lot of parts that seemed very “male,” who knows though, Tosca could just be that good.  The thing about the series that is different than The Circle Trilogy, besides the co-author factor is that you don’t go back and forth between two worlds.  Nine years from where we left off we are thrown desperately into the themes of love, loyalty, and mortality.  Dekker’s novels always contain a very deep “lesson/theme” that I don’t think everyone “gets,” but if you do you REALLY get it.  If I explain what I mean more in depth I’ll give the basis of the story away, and you really should read it!  I mean, if you don’t close this book without a new, deeper understanding of what love really is, I don’t know what to tell you.  The ending is insane; I completely did not see it coming and cannot wait to read the final Sovereign next spring! Dive Deep! ;)

"The Grace Effect: How the Power of One Life Can Reverse the Corruption of Unbelief" by Larry Alex Taunton

What I have to say...
I just recently finished reading The Grace Effect: How the Power of One Life Can Reverse the Corruption of Unbelief, by Larry Alex Taunton, and I honestly cannot point out to you exactly why I chose it in the first place.  I mean something must have jumped out at me; I’m just not particularly sure what exactly it was.  I have a pretty high amount of faith in anything published by Thomas Nelson though; I to this day have enjoyed every book I’ve read under that nameplate.  This book is unlike most other “lifestyle” books I’ve read in the fact that although the point of the book is in fact to prove a point, maybe it’s not.  The life story Taunton tells proves the point in itself. Isn’t that how life is?  We can talk all we want, but in the end it’s just that. Talk. The proof is in the pudding and it this case the pudding is Sasha, okay that didn’t come out right but you get the point.  Sasha’s story is one that will keep you wanting more, and will bring you to tears (I may have cried reading parts in the break room at work).   All in all it is a very interesting read, which will leave you understanding the true meaning of grace in a very realistic way.  What are you waiting for?  Go read it!
